  Good Appearance of the Elephant  
 
 
 

Good elephant must have a big body, big head, full cheeks, wide forehead, clear eyes and strong legs. Elephant's back must be a bit higher in the middle of the back.The tusks must be straight and not twisted. The ears should be smooth and not tearful. Healthy elephants will always swing their trunk and wag their ears and tend to search for food all the time. The sweat flows out of their toenails. It will be observed from the wet dust sticking to their nails. These appearances are considered as a good elephant such as the movement of body, tail, ears, trunk, lifting legs, color skin, soft hair, pink mouth, shine eyes including eating, sleeping, searching for food. A good elephant must be quite tall, big. Its skin must be quite wrinkled. Its head must be full as well as its cheeks. Its forehead must quite wide. Its ears must be big. It must not be tearful. Its trunk must be long. Its neck must be short and big. Its back must be curved also called “Pae Karn Kluay.” Its nails must be ranged and shine.
