     The Forest Industry Organization was approved by Department of Forestry to plant teak forest used to be a concession during 1966 - 1967. The Forest Industry Organization had a meeting with the Forest Region and agreed that the first area was the Thung Kwian Plantation in Mae Tui forest concession, Lampang.

 
     
         According to the agreements, the plantation must be planted approximately 1,000 rai a year. There are 2 kinds of planting.  
 
     
  1. The planters are the voluntary villagers from near the plantation.
  2. The planters are employed villagers from near the plantation.
     
 
 
        Thung Kwian Plantation had proceeded with planting during 1968 - 1983. The total area is 15,127 rai. The villagers, who have joined planting during the past to the present, are approximately 207 villagers.
 
     
 

Apart from teak planting, Thung Kwian Plantation also proceeds in conserving nature and encouraging tourism. Thung Kwian Plantation created the various species of trees in order to collect all species of trees such as flowering plants, scented plants, herbs, cactus and plants used in religion etc. The Royal King, Queen and Family once planted many trees in this area. Thung Kwian Plantation also distributes knowledge to interested people. In addition, Thung Kwian Plantation has a study nature center consisting of natural directions and an open zoo.
