Because the infirmary
of the Institute was too
small to cope with all
the sick elephants waiting
to be treated, funds were
donated to build a free
public elephants hospital
at the Institute. It still
lacks equipment and medical
supplies, a water treatment
system and a crane. This
is necessary because sick
elephants cannot stand
up on their own; a crane
is needed to pull them
up. |
